ปังปุริเย่ คำอุทานที่แสดงถึงสิ่งที่ออกมาดูดีมากเหนือความคาดหมาย เติมต่อมาจากคำว่า ปัง สุดปัง เริ่ดมาก …ศัพท์สุดฮิตบนโซเชียล อันเป็นภาษาของคนรุ่นใหม่ หนึ่งในวัฒนธรรมป็อปที่เป็นความนิยมอันแพร่หลายของผู้คน(คนไทย)ที่ร่วมสมัยกันนี้ ส่วนคำว่า PUNK.PURI.YES!! (พั้งค์ปุริเยส) ก็แผลงต่อมาอีกที เป็นการสำทับเห็นด้วยถึงความสุดปังที่มากับความแสบๆเกร๋ๆครั้งนี้

‘Pang Puri Yeah’ is a slang refers to something that look so fantastic and better than expectation. The word is extended from ‘Pang’ another slang which means awesome. Part of a Pop culture, the word has been widely used on social media. In other words, it is a language of new generation.

สนุก แซ่บ น่ารัก เก๋ๆ เท่ๆ กวนๆ มันส์ๆ ล้วนแต่เป็นองค์ประกอบและอารมณ์ความรู้สึกที่มักสัมผัสได้ในศิลปะแนวป็อปทั่วโลก ซึ่งแต่ละประเทศก็จะมีกลิ่นอายเป็นแบบของตัวเอง สำหรับเมืองไทยนั้น ก็มีเอกลักษณ์ที่ศิลปินมักสอดแทรกความสนุก ขบขัน อารมณ์ดี ที่เสพง่าย ไม่ซับซ้อนลงในรูปลักษณ์การแสดงออก นิทรรศการครั้งนี้ต้องการสื่อให้เห็นถึงเอกลักษณ์ทั้งในรูปแบบ เนื้อหา และสไตล์ของศิลปะแนวป็อปร่วมสมัยในเมืองไทย ผ่านผลงานของศิลปินสี่คนที่ต่างก็แสดงออกถึงเรื่องราวที่ตนเองได้ประสบ พบเจออยู่ ณ ปัจจุบัน และสะท้อนความเป็นสมัยนิยมในแต่ละด้าน แต่ละประเด็น ออกมาตามแบบฉบับของตน ไม่ว่าจะเป็น

Fun, Cute, Cool or Awesome are composed in the international Pop Art. However, each country has their own style of Pop art. In Thailand too, there is a unique character that anyone may be able to tell that is created by Thai artists because they tend to include some kind of fun, teasing, playful, joyful and simple in visual representation and contents. The exhibition aims to present styles, forms and essences of Thai Pop art through works of art by four distinctive Thai artists who express any issues that they are interested and encountering in everyday life. They reflect Thai Pop art & culture in their own ways as follows:

แฝงอารมณ์ตลกร้ายของ รณชัย กิติศักดิ์สิน กับซีรีส์ใหม่ชื่อ ‘Woman from Mars’ ที่พูดถึงสถานการณ์ในสังคมปัจจุบันในประเด็นที่ว่า เมื่อคนเราอยู่ในสังคมก็ต้องปฏิบัติตัวตามกฎเกณฑ์ที่สังคมนั้นกำหนดขึ้น เราจึงมี Character ที่เป็นไปเพื่อภาพลักษณ์และประโยชน์แก่ตัวเองสูงสุดในสังคมนั้น แต่มนุษย์มีสิ่งดำมืดและสัญชาตญาณที่เป็นพื้นฐานอยู่ภายใน เมื่อเข้าไปอยู่ร่วมกับคนหมู่มากจึงต้องใช้สำนึกแห่งศีลธรรมเอาชนะความรู้สึกนั้น

ในสังคมที่ต่อหน้าพูดอย่าง ลับหลังกลับทำกับเราอีกอย่างเหมือนในทุกวันนี้ การข่มจิตใจด้วยความรู้สึกผิดชอบชั่วดีเพื่อเอาชนะความรุนแรงภายในอาจจะไม่สามารถกำจัดความชั่วร้ายในจิตใจได้หมด สุดท้ายก็อยู่ที่ตัวเราเองแล้วว่าจะใช้กลอุบายใดในการปกปิดตัวตนอันวิกลจริตภายในได้มากกว่ากัน

In the society now, we tend to experience hypocritical intentions. Anyone must suppress their anger and use morality to defeat it but may not eliminate all the evils inside our minds. Finally, it depends on anyone who can apply whatever tactics to conceal their twisted minds better than others.

โดยศิลปินซอส หรือภูมิ พีชวณิชย์ จากผลงานชุดเดิมที่ว่าด้วยเรื่องการโอ้อวดประสบการณ์และเครื่องมือทางเพศ พัฒนาสู่ผลงานชุดใหม่กับการสร้างรูปลักษณ์หรือcharacterมาบอกเล่าประเด็นของ Identity หรือการสร้างตัวตนขึ้นมาครอบตัวจริงภายในที่มักเกิดขึ้นในสังคมปัจจุบัน ศิลปินได้รับแรงบันดาลใจมาจากโลกยุคโบราณที่มีสร้างตัวตนสมมุติเช่นเทพเจ้าขึ้นมาจากปรากฏการณ์ธรรมชาติ ซึ่งการสร้างตัวตนเหล่านั้นจึงก่อเกิดสังคมขึ้นมา แม้ในโลกสมัยใหม่อย่างวัฒนธรรมป็อปก็เป็นส่วนหนึ่งที่ขับเคลื่อนพลวัตของสังคม ศิลปินจึงหยิบยกเรื่องการสร้างมอนสเตอร์ สัตว์ประหลาดที่ดูพลาสติกปลอมๆในการ์ตูนซูปเปอร์ฮีโร่ อย่างไอ้มดแดง เป็นต้น ที่นำเอาคนธรรมดามาดัดแปลง ใส่ชุด แต่งเมคอัพ แต่แท้จริงเนื้อในก็ยังเป็นคนอยู่ สะท้อนชีวิตจริงที่ศิลปินประสบพบเจอที่ว่า การอยู่ในสังคมจะต้องมีการสร้างตัวตน(identity)ขึ้นมาครอบ ซึ่งศิลปินได้ขยายความไปถึงสถานการณ์บ้านเมืองในปัจจุบันกับความเชื่อ ความศรัทธา ที่มีเรื่องของการ ‘พูดไม่ได้’ และ ‘การรับรู้’ ของคนในสังคมไทยที่ต้องรับรู้ในสิ่งที่เค้าอยากให้รับ ด้วยการซ่อนสัญญะต่างๆภายในผลงานได้อย่างแยบคาย

Poom Pechavanich, also known as Sauce, has developed his work from a concept of boasting sexual experience of men and regarding women as sexual tools to the latest series of works that centred around creating a identity to cover up one’s inner self which normally occurred in the society today. Sauce is inspired by the ancient world where imaginary figures like god were created from natural phenomena. Also, in the contemporary world where pop culture is part of mechanism to drive the society, he has picked up a concept of creating monsters that look fake-plastic in a super-hero cartoon like Kamen Rider in which ordinary people are dressed up and put on make up, but inside they are just humans. All of which resonates the reality that the artist has encountered about creating the identity in the society. Beyond that, Sauce has hidden some signs and clues to extend his content and speak out the situations that have happened in Thailand so far where belief and faith are dealt with ‘unspeakable’ and ‘perception’ of Thai people who have to perceive in what someone propagated.

ของ CHIRA CHIRA จากความรักที่มีต่อสัตว์ ถ่ายทอดสู่ประติมากรรมคาแรคเตอร์สัตว์แยกเขี้ยวยิงฟันสีสันสดใส ที่แม้จะดูแสบๆกวนๆแต่ก็ซ่อนความน่ารัก ใสซื่อ บริสุทธิ์ และเชิญชวนให้ผู้คนมาถ่ายรูปคู่ด้วย ศิลปินต้องการสื่อถึงความรู้สึกเวลคัมของสัตว์ เมื่อเราได้เข้าใกล้ ก็รู้สึกมีความสุขจากความยินดีความเป็นมิตรของพวกมันที่มีต่อเรา

From his love of animals, CHIRA CHIRA expresses it through sculptures in his unique characters. Inspite of looking so cheeky, the animal sculptures also show cutie and innocence which invite viewers to take photos with them. The artist refers to welcome and friendliness that the animals express to us when we stay close to them.

Gentle Pop
ละมุนละไมไปกับหญิงสาวและสัตว์น้อยน่าทะนุถนอมในแบบของศิลปินเล็ก ต่อพงศ์ เชยชมที่ได้แรงบันดาลใจจากการชื่นชมความงามของสตรีและความน่ารักของสัตว์ตัวน้อยที่พบเห็นรอบตัวในปัจจุบัน ก่อเกิดภาพที่ติดอยู่ในใจ ผสมผสานออกมาสู่ผลงานจิตรกรรม ประติมากรรมเซรามิก ด้วยบรรยากาศในงานที่คล้ายกับนิทาน หากแต่ผู้หญิงในภาพใส่ชุดกระโปรงยาว ทรงผมและการแต่งหน้าแต่งตาดูร่วมสมัย ไปจนถึงนกกระจอกที่ไม่กระจอกเมื่อได้สวมมงกุฎ ล้วนแต่สวยงามตามแบบอุดมคติ(ของศิลปิน)

Feeling mild and gentle girls with cute animals in the style of Lek Torpong Choeichom, he is inspired by the beauty of woman and cutie of little animals surrounding him at present. The visuals have been embedded in his mind and blend with his imagination expressed through paintings and ceramics. Although the works as if visualise a tale, the girls wear a long dress with contemporary make-up and hair styles; and also, a sparrow that not just a normal bird anymore when it wears a crown. All of which indicates the ideal beauty of the artist.

ภายในนิทรรศการ ผู้ชมจะได้รับชมผลงานจิตรกรรม วาดเส้น เซรามิก และประติมากรรมจัดวาง กว่า 30 ชิ้นโดยสี่ศิลปินไทยรุ่นใหม่ที่ ห้องแสดงงานชั้น 1 จอยแมน แกลเลอรี่ สี่แยกสำราญราษฎร์ กรุงเทพฯ ระหว่างวันที่ 10 ตุลาคม – 14 พฤศจิกายน 2564 เข้าชมฟรี ไม่มีค่าใช้จ่าย พร้อมมาตรการป้องกันโควิด ใส่หน้ากากอนามัย เว้นระยะห่าง และมีแอลกอฮอลล์ล้างมือให้ทั่วบริเวณ แกลเลอรี่เปิดให้เข้าชม วันอังคาร – อาทิตย์ 11:00 – 18:00 น. ปิดทุกวันจันทร์

In the exhibition, audiences will see 30 works of paintings, drawings, ceramics and sculptural installations by four remarkable Thai artists in an exhibition space on 1st floor, Joyman Gallery, Bangkok during October 10 – November 14, 2021.

Free entry, all visitors must visit with Covid-19 preventive measures : wear masks, keep distancing 2 m., and wash hands with alcohol.

The gallery is opened Tue – Sun 11:00 am – 6:00 pm Closed every Monday.
