หนึ่งในประเภทภาพที่ยังคงสร้างความน่าสนใจและมีความลึกลับที่สุดในประวัติศาสตร์ศิลปะโลก คงหนีไม่พ้น “ ภาพวาดบุคคล ” ไม่ว่าจะเป็นภาพ
“ Mona Lisa ” โดยศิลปิน Leonardo da Vinci (1452 – 1519) ที่นอกจากว่ารอยยิ้มของ Mona Lisa จะดูเหมือนแฝงความนัยบางอย่างไว้แล้ว ในทุกองค์ประกอบของภาพ ทั้งกระบวนการ วิธีคิด จุดเริ่มต้นที่มาของผลงาน บุคคลต้นแบบ Mona Lisa ที่แท้จริงแล้วเธอเป็นใคร ยังสร้างความน่าสนใจให้โลกศิลปะได้ค้นคว้าทฤษฎีใหม่ๆ ต่อเนื่องอย่างไม่มีที่สิ้นสุด หรือ ภาพมนุษย์ที่สร้างความสะเทือนอารมณ์ด้วยแสงเงาที่ตัดกันเด็ดขาด โดย ศิลปิน Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio (1571-1610) ก็ได้กลายเป็นแรงบันดาลใจสำคัญให้ศิลปินรุ่นหลังทั่วโลกศึกษากันต่อมา เป็นต้น

“The portrait painting” has been the most attractive and mysterious type of art in art world history such as the significant painting called “Mona Lisa” by Leonardo da Vinci (15 April 1452 – 2 May 1519) that implies compositions, concepts, thoughts, and the beginning. Who is this woman named Mona Lisa? This painting could enhance the attention of the art world to study more and continually research new theories. Another intense contrast-shadow-paintings by Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio (1571-1610) became the inspiration for a younger generation-artist.
นิทรรศการ Mirrorlistic งานจิตรกรรมภาพบุคคล โดย ศิลปินไทย คียาภัทร เกตุไสว จัดแสดงภาพบุคคลที่มีความพิเศษตรงที่ภาพทั้งหมดล้วนเป็นภาพที่ไม่ได้เกิดจากการลอกเลียนต้นฉบับในอดีต แต่ศิลปินสร้างภาพบุคคลเหล่านี้ขึ้นใหม่ ด้วยข้อมูล การค้นคว้า ประสบการณ์ร่วมของศิลปินต่อบุคคลนั้นๆ และนอกจากนั้น จิตรกรรมชุด Mirrorlistic นี้ยังเปรียบเสมือนบันทึกช่วงชีวิตที่คู่ขนาน ระหว่างเรื่องราวบุคคลในภาพควบรวมกับความทรงจำ ความเข้าใจของตัวศิลปินเอง ตั้งแต่วัยเด็กจนถึงมุมมองที่มีต่อตนเองทั้งในปัจจุบันและอนาคต

‘MIRRORLISTIC’ , a solo exhibition by a young Thai artist named Keeyapat Katesawai, has exhibited the portraits. All the pieces are very special since the artist did not copy from the original, but he painted it based on data, research, and experience that he related from those people. Moreover, this series of paintings are representative of the record from parallel life between the personal history, memories, and the understanding of himself since his childhood until now and also the future.
ภาพตัวละครที่ศิลปินคุ้นเคยในวัยเด็ก เป็นภาพแทนบอกเล่าความเยาว์วัยและความคิดไร้เดียงสา ภาพมาริโอ – ดองกี้คอง 1981 ที่หัวแตก ( Abang ) หรือ 2 ตัวการ์ตูน ผู้เฒ่าเต่า – ดาร์ก้อนบอล( Master Roshi ) และ ซุปเปอร์แมน – Arale ของปรมาจารย์ อากิระ โทริยามะ ( Superman ) ที่มีชีวิตขึ้นจริงและยังมีบุคลิกยียวนเรียกรอยยิ้ม
ภาพเหล่าศิลปินเอกของโลกที่สะท้อนช่วงเวลาสำคัญของศิลปินเหล่านั้น ทั้งความระทมทุกข์ของ ไมเคิลแองเจโล ( Michelangelo ) ขณะเขียนโบสถ์ Sistine Chapel ลีโอนาโด ดาร์วินชี กับตัวตนปริศนาที่ศิลปินใช้สีชมพูเป็นนัยยะ ( icniv aD odranoeL) ภาพตัดหูตนเองด้านขวาของ วินเซนท์ แวนโก๊ะ ( Vincent van Gogh ) ที่ไม่เหมือนภาพที่เห็นทั่วไปในประวัติศาสตร์ศิลปะ เพราะเป็นภาพหูด้านขวาที่ขาด ซึ่งเป็นหูด้านที่ถูกต้อง แตกต่างจากภาพที่แวนโก๊ะวาดไว้ในขณะส่องกระจกจนทำให้ผู้คนทั่วโลกเข้าใจผิดว่าหูที่ขาดคือด้านซ้าย ภาพแรมบรันด์ ( Rembrandt with red beret ) , คาราวัคจิโอ ( Caravaggio ) ที่มีเลือดเนื้อขึ้นใหม่อย่างมีมิติจากต้นแบบเส้นร่างภาพพิมพ์ที่มีเพียงสีเจือจาง รวมถึงภาพ โดนัล ทรัมป์ ( American man ) บุคคลที่มีอิทธิพลในยุคร่วมสมัยกับการกลายเป็นมีมถูกล้อเลียนทั่วโลก หรือ แม้กระทั่งภาพ The Scream ( The scream 2020 ) ที่บันทึกความหวาดกลัวต่อโรคระบาด Covid 19 ของเผ่าพันธ์มนุษย์ไว้

The character which was familiar with the artist when he was young is the image of youth and innocence. The broken head of Mario – Donkey Kong 1981 (Abang), Two cartoon characters; Master Roshi from the Dragon Ball (Master Roshi), and the Suppaman of Akira Toriyama (Superman) that has been alive with an irritated face. Moreover, there are portraits of famous artists that reflect their period and unforgettable situations. For instance, the suffering of Michelangelo while he was painting at Sistine Chapel ceiling (Michelangelo), Leonardo da Vinci and the mystery which artist used Pink as a meaning (icniv aD odranoeL), the right ear cut off image of Vincent van gogh which different from other historical images. The clipped ear was the right side which is the right one, most people might think that he cut his left ear off since he was painting himself reflected on the mirror (Vincent van Gogh), the portrait of Rembrandt ( ( Rembrandt with red beret ) and Caravaggio ( Caravaggio ) have been alive with flesh from the prototype of a print sketch with only diluted colours, the portrait of Donald Trump ( American man ) an influential man with meme-making are mocked all over the world, or even the well-known painting named The Scream ( The Scream 2020 ) that he inscribed the fear of the Covid-19 pandemic.
คียาภัทร เกตุไสว เริ่มต้นชีวิตการทำงานศิลปะจากจุดเริ่มต้นในวัยเด็กที่รักการวาดรูป แต่อย่างไรเขาไม่ได้ตั้งใจเรียนมากนักในช่วงวัยศึกษา เขาสนุกกับการได้เฝ้าดูคนอื่นสร้างงานศิลปะ จนในวันหนึ่งที่เขาเดินทางไปประเทศอเมริกา ได้เห็นงานศิลปะภาพบุคคลชิ้นมาสเตอร์พีชระดับโลกด้วยตาตนเอง สีขาวแวววาวในแววตาของบุคคลในภาพเขียนเหล่านั้น กลับฝังใจจนเขาไม่อาจลืม เมื่อกลับมาเมืองไทย เขาจึงเริ่มรีสตาร์ทตัวเองใหม่ ตั้งแต่งานวาดเส้น จนถึง จิตรกรรมสีน้ำมัน ในนิทรรศการ Mirrorlistic ครั้งนี้

Keeyapat Katesawai began his life in the art world when he was a child, he loved making artworks. However, he did not focus on the study that much, but he enjoyed watching other people create art pieces. Until he visited the USA, he saw the real masterpiece of a well-known artist by his eyes. The white eyes sparkle that reflected from the piece impressed him and stuck in his heart all the time. When he was back in Thailand, he decided to restart himself again from drawing to oil painting. Then, it has become this exhibition ‘MIRRORLISTIC’
” เราไม่เคยเห็นตัวเราเองจริงๆ ภาพที่เราได้เห็นเป็นเพียงภาพสะท้อนเท่านั้น ” ประโยคนี้นับเป็นใจความสำคัญสำหรับนิทรรศการ Mirrorlistic เพราะศิลปินต้องการให้จิตรกรรมภาพบุคคลชุดนี้สะท้อนเรื่องราวความรู้สึก ความเข้าใจในมิติที่ลึกกว่าความเหมือนของบุคคลนั้นๆ
ความน่าสนใจในงานศิลปะของคียาภัทร คือการก้าวออกจากกรอบเดิม ระบบวิธีการเดิมๆ ตั้งแต่เริ่มจนจบงานหนึ่งชิ้น นอกจากทักษะชั้นเยี่ยมทีแปรงที่เป็นเอกลักษณ์ ศิลปินยังท้าทายตนเอง ตั้งแต่การไม่ร่างภาพหรือทำสเก็ตซ์ การวาดจากความทรงจำ จากประวัติศาสตร์ เอกสารทางการแพทย์ จดหมาย บทกวี สีผม สีดวงตา หลักฐานทางพันธุกรรม เครื่องแต่งกาย ตัวตนที่ถูกปกปิด หรือแม้กระทั่งจากภาพเขียนของศิลปินร่วมยุคเดียวกัน คียาภัทรเริ่มวาด แก้ไข ลบ วาดทับในภาพเขียนโดยไม่ทิ้งร่องรอยไว้ โดยศิลปินบอกอย่างอารมณ์ดีว่า ถ้าสแกนรูปของเขาขึ้นมา มันอาจจะเป็นคนละภาพหรือมีบางสิ่งซ่อนไว้โดยที่เขาไม่เคยเล่าให้ใครฟังเลยก็ได้

“We never see ourselves with our eyes, we only see the reflection from a mirror” is the main concept of this exhibition. The artist intends to reflect the impression and the deeper understanding of more than just the portraits through the paintings.
Thinking out of the box and extending more is the key to the artist’s works from the beginning until the end. Beyond his talented skill and his signature brush strokes, he challenged himself by not sketching but painting from his memories, history, evidence, letters, poems, hair colours, eyes colours, genetic evidence, clothes, hidden identities, or even the paintings in that period. He started to paint, fix, erase, and layer on the piece but did not leave any draft lines. He happily said that if you scan his painting, you will see the difference or something hidden behind that he never told anyone.
“…ผมว่านะ งานจิตรกรรมไม่ว่าจะเป็นภาพเหมือน ภาพคน หรือภาพแลนด์สเคป หรือภาพอะไรก็ตาม ในงานจิตรกรรมคือมันไม่ใช่ความจริงที่โลกปัจจุบันเป็น มันเป็นความจริงของตัวมันเองในงานจิตรกรรมนั้นนะครับ ซึ่งมันจะเป็นยังไงก็แล้วแต่ว่าจิตรกรผู้นั้นจะสร้างมันขึ้นมา มันจริงด้วยตัวมันเอง มันพลิกแพลงมันบิดเบี้ยวจากโลกจริงก็ได้ ผมชอบมีลูกเล่น บางทีผมซ่อนแต่ผมไม่บอก ในงานนี้มันมีบางอย่าง ที่บางทีผมไม่ได้บอก มันก็ซ่อนไปเลย อยากให้ลองค้นหากันเอาเองบ้าง …บางที…” ศิลปิน คียาภัทร เกตไสว

“…I think any kinds of painting like realistic, portrait, landscape, or whatever are not the truth or reality in this world now. There is the truth of itself. It can be anything or even unrealistic depending on the painter who created it. It can be distorted from reality. I’d like to hide something that I didn’t tell as a gimmick. I would like the audience to find it by themselves…maybe…”

นิทรรศการ MIRRORLISTIC เปิดให้เข้าชมตั้งแต่วันที่ 26 พฤศจิกายน 2021 – 9 มกราคม 2022 ณ Joyman Gallery และเนื่องด้วยสถานการณ์โควิด 19 ขอให้ผู้ชมทุกท่านลงทะเบียนสวมหน้ากากอนามัย รักษาระยะห่างระหว่างเข้าชมอย่างเคร่งครัด โดยจะมีเจ้าหน้าที่ประจำแกลลอรี่ดูแลให้รายละเอียดของนิทรรศการ
