รศ.ดร.สกนธ์ ภู่งามดี ศิลปินที่กล้าหยิบยกแง่มุมประเด็นทางสังคมมาตีความสร้างสรรค์ ถือเป็นอีกหนึ่งศิลปินที่ปราดเปรื่องในการสร้างภาพสะท้อนเหตุการณ์บ้านเมืองที่มีความอลม่านบ้าใบ้ในปัจจุบัน เขาคลี่คลาย กลั่นกรองจนตกผลึกทางความคิด และสื่อสารออกมาให้เข้าใจได้ง่าย จนเกิดเป็นผลงานเปรียบเปรยเชิงสัญลักษณ์อันน่าพิศวง
ผลงานนำเสนอด้วยเทคนิควิธีการเขียนภาพแบบลัทธิ Naïve Art การใช้สีดิบสด ซื่อตรง ไร้เดียงสา ปราศจากการปรุงแต่งต่อเติมให้งดงามเกินพอดี ดั่งที่เรียกว่า “การใช้สีที่จริงใจ” โดยมีเนื้อหาสาระสำคัญเพื่อสะท้อนสังคม (Social Realism) ผ่านสัญลักษณ์ที่แทนด้วยตัวเทพชุมนุม องค์เทพผู้ซึ่งประทานทุกอย่างแก่ประชาชน เทพผู้ดำรงอยู่ท่ามกลางความทุกข์ยาก เทพผู้ที่เราให้ความเชื่อถือและศรัทธา ศิลปินใช้สัญลักษณ์จากคติความเชื่อนี้เพื่อสะท้อนแง่มุมในสังคมไทยปัจจุบันได้อย่างน่าสนใจ
ผลงานชุดเทพชุมนุมจึงเป็นเสมือนสิ่งบันทึกเรื่องราวในชีวิต ณ เวลานั้น แสดงความงามจากสีที่จัดจ้าน เต็มเปี่ยมไปด้วยอารมณ์และแรงปะทะต่อผู้ชม ถือได้ว่าเป็นผลงานชุดที่สำคัญอันเปี่ยมด้วยคุณค่าทางสุนทรียภาพและให้แง่คิดเชิงสัจจสังคมนิยม
ถึงแม้เนื้อหาภายในจะดูเคร่งขรึม แต่ก็ยังแฝงความงามและแง่มุมความสุขเอาไว้ได้ เขาเชื่อว่า “….ความสุขในชีวิตของเขานั้นคือการเขียนภาพ….ถึงแม้เหตุการณ์บ้านเมืองจะตึงเครียดมากแค่ไหน แต่หัวใจศิลปินก็แสวงหาความจรรโลงจากการทำงานศิลปะได้เสมอ…ในทุก ๆ วันยังมีเรื่องราวที่งดงามแฝงอยู่ในความสุขและทุกข์ตลอดไป เสมือนการหลับไหลแล้วตื่นพบวันใหม่อีกครั้ง”
GOD! I Love You, DAMN It! เทพเริ่มชุมนุมกันตั้งแต่วันที่ 4 ตุลาคม – 21 ธันวาคม พ.ศ.2562 โดยมีกำหนดพิธีเปิดนิทรรศการและร่วมสังสรรกันในวันอาทิตย์ที่ 6 ตุลาคม 2562 เวลา 18.00 น. ร่วมกระทบไหล่ศิลปินได้ที่ Joyman Gallery พื้นที่ศิลปะย่านเกาะรัตนโกสินทร์ถิ่นเมืองคนรักศิลปะ

Assoc. Prof. Sakon Phu-ngamdee Ph.D. is an artist who dare to talk about social issues via creative interpretations. Considered one of the artists who brilliance to create a reflection of the country that has the curtain today. He improved screening until crystallize the idea, and communicate easily to understand. Resulting in astonishing symbolic works.
From techniques and brush strokes when looking superficially seems like he’s brought an idea of a “Naïve Art” to use on this set of his works. The use of bright colors, fresh, honest, innocent without any additional additions to be more beautiful. As it is called “Using a sincere colors”. By having an important content to reflect the society (Social Realism) through the symbol represented by God in human form. Artist brought many symbols from these beliefs to reflect interesting aspects of today’s Thai society.
GOD! I Love you, Damn It! the painting Series, therefore being like a recording of life’s stories at that time showing the beauty from intense colors, full of emotion and energy to the audience. These painting considered as an important set of works of Sakon with aesthetic values and socialist realism.
Although the content inside seems to contain with serious and tense but there still hiding with the beauty and aspects of happiness. He believes that “…. the happiness in his life is painting…Although the country is very tense But the heart of the artist is always searching for the sustainability of art … Every day, there are still beautiful stories hidden in happiness and suffering forever. Like falling asleep and then waking up to see the day again”.
GOD! I love you, Damn It!! The exhibition will shown from 4 October – 21 December 2019. With the opening ceremony and exhibitions scheduled for Sunday, October 6, 2019. Start from 6:00 pm onwards. Summon all the gods and goddesses at Joyman Gallery, an art space for everyone at the Rattanakhosin Island area, a city for every art lovers!
