𝘐𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘞𝘦𝘭𝘭-𝘉𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺
𝘜𝘙𝘉𝘈𝘕 𝘚𝘖𝘜𝘓𝘚𝘊𝘈𝘗𝘌 สำรวจภูมิทัศน์ภายในของชีวิตเมืองร่วมสมัย ในช่วงเวลาที่ความเร่งรีบ เทคโนโลยี และระบบการผลิตได้เข้ามากำหนดวิธีคิด การใช้ชีวิต และสภาวะทางอารมณ์ของมนุษย์อย่างลึกซึ้ง นิทรรศการนี้จึงไม่ได้มอง “เมือง” เพียงในฐานะพื้นที่ทางกายภาพ หากแต่เป็นพื้นที่ทางจิตใจ ที่ซึ่งตัวตน ความรู้สึก และจิตวิญญาณ ถูกหล่อหลอม กดทับ และต่อรองอยู่ตลอดเวลา
𝘜𝘙𝘉𝘈𝘕 𝘚𝘖𝘜𝘓𝘚𝘊𝘈𝘗𝘌 explores the inner conditions of contemporary urban life—at a time when speed, technology, and systems of productivity increasingly shape how we think, feel, and exist. Rather than viewing the city solely as a physical environment, the exhibition approaches it as a psychological and emotional terrain, where identity, perception, and the human spirit are continuously constructed and negotiated.
ผลงานของศิลปินแต่ละคนสะท้อนมุมมองที่แตกต่างกันต่อสภาวะดังกล่าว ผ่านภาษา visual ที่มีทั้งความเป็น figurative การบิดเบือนรูปทรง และการผสมผสานระหว่างความจริงกับนามธรรม โดย BLIC (ฟิลิปปินส์) นำเสนอ “humands” หรือมนุษย์หัวมือ ที่เปรียบเสมือนตัวแทนของการปรับตัวและการเติบโตผ่านความยากลำบาก ขณะที่ Lee Donggu (เกาหลีใต้) ถ่ายทอดร่างกายที่แตกสลายและประกอบขึ้นใหม่ สะท้อนแรงกดดันและความไม่มั่นคงในชีวิตเมือง
ในอีกด้านหนึ่ง Gelo Montiero (ฟิลิปปินส์) ใช้ภาพตัวละครที่ดูนิ่งสงบแต่แฝงด้วยความเงียบงันทางอารมณ์ ส่วน Uy Nguyen (เวียดนาม) สร้างพื้นที่กึ่งฝันกึ่งจริง ที่ตั้งคำถามถึงสภาวะภายในและจิตใต้สำนึกของมนุษย์ ในขณะที่ผลงานประติมากรรมนูนต่ำของ Jesse Thompson (สหรัฐอเมริกา) ถ่ายทอดสภาวะภายในของมนุษย์ผ่านร่างกายที่ทั้งนิ่งสงบและคลุมเครือ—ตั้งแต่งานที่ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากจิตรกรรมศาสนาโบราณซึ่งให้ความรู้สึกเหนือจริง ไปจนถึงท่าทางของร่างกายที่บดบังใบหน้า ซึ่งสะท้อนความเปราะบางและการตั้งคำถามต่อการรับรู้
สำหรับ Aitoy (ไทย) นำเสนอโลกที่เส้นแบ่งระหว่าง “ผู้ควบคุม” และ “ผู้ถูกควบคุม” พร่าเลือน ผ่านองค์ประกอบที่คล้ายกลไกดิจิทัล ซึ่งฝังตัวอยู่ในร่างกายมนุษย์ เปรียบเสมือนระบบที่กำหนดการเคลื่อนไหวและความคิดโดยที่เราไม่ทันตั้งคำถาม
Each artist offers a distinct perspective on these conditions through figurative distortions, hybrid visual languages, and layered symbolism. BLIC (Philippines) presents his signature “humands”—hand-headed figures that embody adaptation and growth through hardship—while Lee Donggu (Korea) constructs fragmented and reassembled bodies that reflect pressure, instability, and transformation.
Meanwhile, Gelo Montiero (Philippines) explores emotional stillness and quiet tension through composed yet introspective figures, and Uy Nguyen (Vietnam) creates dreamlike environments that blur the boundaries between consciousness and subconscious states. In contrast, Jesse Thompson (USA) explores inner human states through bodies that appear both still and ambiguous—ranging from elongated figures inspired by early religious painting to obscured faces that suggest vulnerability and question perception.
Completing the exhibition, Aitoy (Thailand) investigates the blurred line between the “controller” and the “controlled,” presenting bodies embedded with system-like elements that operate as invisible mechanisms shaping human behavior and perception.
เมื่อมองร่วมกัน ผลงานทั้งหมดในนิทรรศการนี้เผยให้เห็น “ภูมิทัศน์ของจิตใจ” ที่ซ้อนทับอยู่ภายในเมืองร่วมสมัย — พื้นที่ที่ความยืดหยุ่นทางจิตใจ (resilience) ความกดดัน ความเงียบงัน และการควบคุมที่มองไม่เห็น ดำรงอยู่พร้อมกันอย่างซับซ้อน
𝘜𝘙𝘉𝘈𝘕 𝘚𝘖𝘜𝘓𝘚𝘊𝘈𝘗𝘌 จึงเป็นการชวนให้ผู้ชมย้อนกลับมาพิจารณาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างตัวเองกับเมืองอีกครั้ง — ไม่ใช่เพียงในฐานะผู้อยู่อาศัย แต่ในฐานะ “ผู้ถูกหล่อหลอม” โดยมัน
Taken together, the works reveal a layered “soulscape” of the contemporary city—where resilience, pressure, silence, and invisible systems coexist. The exhibition invites viewers to reconsider their relationship with urban life, not only as inhabitants, but as subjects shaped by its underlying structures.

Joyman Gallery, Bangkok is pleased to present 𝘜𝘙𝘉𝘈𝘕 𝘚𝘖𝘜𝘓𝘚𝘊𝘈𝘗𝘌, a group exhibition featuring paintings and sculptures by six contemporary artists from five countries: BLIC (Philippines), Lee Donggu (Korea), Jesse Thompson (USA), Uy Nguyen (Vietnam), Gelo Montiero (Philippines), and Aitoy (Thailand). The exhibition will be on view from 10 – 31 May 2026 at Joyman Gallery, Bangkok (G Floor).
